What is your minimum pickup quantity?

There is no minimum quantity for pickup. However, for quantities under 50 bags, a flat pickup fee of $75 applies for local (Bay Area) and scaled rates for further distances. For 200+ bags, pickup is free within California. We encourage smaller businesses to accumulate bags for more economical pickups, or to coordinate with neighbors for combined pickups.

How far in advance do I need to schedule?

For standard service, we recommend 48 hours advance notice. This allows us to optimize routing and confirm driver availability. For rush service, same-day pickup is available in the Bay Area if you call before 10am. Next-day service is available statewide with orders placed by 2pm the previous day. For scheduled recurring service, we can accommodate standing orders with no repeated scheduling needed.

Do you transport filled bulk bags?

Yes, we transport both empty and filled bulk bags. Filled bag capacity is lower due to weight considerations — typically 400-600 filled bags per truckload depending on contents. For filled bags, we need to know the contents and approximate weight per bag for proper load planning. Our flatbed trailers are particularly suited for palletized filled bags requiring side loading.

What if my location doesn't have a loading dock?

No problem. Our 26' box trucks come equipped with liftgates for ground-level loading and unloading. We also offer inside delivery where our driver can move bags to a specified location within your facility (ground floor, within 50 feet of truck). Just let us know your requirements when scheduling, and we'll assign the appropriate equipment.

Can you coordinate with our bag purchase or sale?

Absolutely — this is one of our key advantages. When you buy or sell bags through Bulk Bags California, we coordinate transportation as part of the service. Buying bags? We'll deliver them. Selling bags? We'll pick them up. How do I track my shipment?

Once your pickup or delivery is scheduled, you'll receive a confirmation email with tracking information. On the day of service, you can view your driver's location in real-time through our tracking portal. You'll receive automated notifications when the driver is 30 minutes away and upon completion. All tracking links are also sent via SMS if you opt in for text notifications.

What happens if bags are damaged during transport?

While damage is rare thanks to our trained drivers, we carry cargo insurance for all shipments. If damage occurs, document it at the time of delivery and note it on the delivery receipt. Report damage within 24 hours and we'll process a claim promptly. For bags we've sold, we'll replace damaged units at no cost. For customer-owned bags, we'll compensate at fair market value.

Do you offer regular scheduled pickups?

Yes, scheduled recurring pickup is our most popular service for businesses with ongoing bulk bag operations. Choose weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly pickups on your preferred day. We'll arrive at the same time each service day — no need to call and schedule each time. Scheduled customers receive our best rates and priority service. Minimum 3-month commitment for scheduled routes.

Can you pick up from multiple locations in one trip?

Yes, we can arrange multi-stop routes for customers with bags at multiple facilities. This is common for companies with several production sites or distribution centers. Multi-stop routes are priced based on total mileage and time, often providing savings compared to scheduling separate pickups. Contact us with your locations and we'll create an optimized route proposal.

What documentation do you provide?

Every shipment includes complete documentation: pickup confirmation with bag count, bill of lading, delivery receipt with recipient signature, and photos of the load. For bags being recycled, we provide certificates of recycling. For bags being sold to us, you'll receive itemized receipts showing bag grades and values. All documents are available electronically through your customer portal.
